I have known Mike for many years, we met while I was at school - Mike has presented me with various awards and certificates over the years, I also met him on the set of Brookside and at charity football matches. He's one of the most genuine and loveliest men that you could ever meet, we have remained friends ever since. After not seeing each other for awhile, I kept bumping into Mike at Manchester when I was waiting for Michael Ball at the stage door numerous times while Michael was doing the first tour of Hairspray. Mike took over playing the role of Edna in Hairspray from Michael at other venues of the tour. Since then I have seen Mike in many musicals, comedies and other shows in Liverpool. He's an excellent actor and has a lovely singing voice.
